KIEV, June 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Kiev will consider the suggestion from Russia’s Gazprom on a prepayment of two billion dollars to the Ukrainian side for pumping of the necessary amount of natural gas into underground gas storages, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuri Boiko said on Wednesday.

“We have studied all suggestions from our Russian counterparts,” the minister said.

Boiko stressed Ukraine is ready to fulfil its obligations regarding transit of natural gas and its supplies to Ukrainian consumers.

Earlier, Gazprom’s CEO, Alexei Miller said the company is ready to make an advanced payment for the transit of Russian natural gas through the Ukrainian territory to form that country’s financial reserve for pumping gas to its underground storage facilities.

On Tuesday, Naftogaz of Ukraine announced the intention to store underground by the new heating seasons as much gas as the country may need it.
