GORKI, June 6 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev intends to discuss with his counterparts from Belarus and Kazakhstan economic cooperation after Russia has joined the World Trade Organization, as well as a new system of integration within the framework of the Customs Union.
The prime minister said it at a session with representatives of the expert community for Russia’s economic development in conditions of WTO accession. Member of the board of directors of Russkaya Molochnaya Compania (Russian Milk Company), Andrei Danilenko regretted that Russian producers of dairy products find themselves in unequal conditions of competition with Belarussian producers.
“More system-based work is needed within the framework of the Customs Union as in essence we are not competing with Belarussian companies, but with the state machinery that does not operate in accordance with market rules,” he said.
Medvedev said he supported efforts of Russian dairy enterprises in setting up a system of integration with clear market terms within the framework of the Customs Union. “In a week I will meet with colleagues from Belarus and Kazakhstan, and we will discuss the current situation in connection with Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization,” he said.
