BEIJING, June 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s President Vladimir Putin may be against the law on violations during rallies only if it contradicts European practices.
“Putin may be generally against and may object only in one case – if this law contradicts generally accepted and applicable practices of other countries on implementation of the rights, mentioned in this law,” the president’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters during a news conference on Wednesday.
He explained that first of all, of concern may be practices of European countries.
“Putin will study the law as soon as it is presented to the president,” Peskov said. “Many addendums and corrections were made during the process of adoption, and the president will study closely the final version of the law.”
“Putin follows the concept that, like it happens in other countries, and first of all in Europe, a law should not limit democracy, rights and freedoms of people, but at the same time it should mind and secure interests of all members of the society.”
