MOSCOW, June 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s official unemployment lowered over past month by 6.5 percent to 1.2 million, Ministry of Labour and Social Security reported on Tuesday.
“As of May 30, the number of unemployed made 1,192,933 as unemployment lowered in Russia’s 79 regions,” the ministry reported. “The biggest decline was registered in the Sakhalin, Magadan and Astrakhan regions, in Yamal-Nenets Administrative District, and in Khakassiya. The unemployment is growing in four territories – the Maritime Territory, in Kalmykia, in the Ryazan and Amur regions.”
“The total number of employers who had to be working part-time due to their administration, as well as of employers who had to go on holidays for a similar reason, - lowered /over the week/ by 8,867 /by 6.9 percent/ to 120,500,” the ministry said.
