MOSCOW, June 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s former Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin has supported businessman Mikhail Prokhorov’s decision to begin the process of his party registration. The ex-minister made this statement in his Twitter micro blog on Tuesday.
“Prokhorov has kept his promise. I support any work leading to the appearance of new representatives of democratic forces in the parliament of the Russian Federation,” Kudrin wrote.
Prokhorov on Monday announced the creation of the Civic Platform party, one of the tasks of which will be the formation of several intellectual venues where the political agenda will be worked out. Thus, according to him, the Platform members are ready to cooperate with the Civil Initiatives Fund created by Kudrin. “We will cooperate with pleasure,” Prokhorov confirmed.
