Medvedev says “non-system” opposition can be invited to federal television

“You invited me and I came,” Medvedev said in an interview with Vladimir Pozner on Channel One on Monday, June 4

PETROPAVLOVSK KAMCHATSKY, June 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev confirmed that the absence of members of the so-called “non-system” opposition on television is a result of the fact that federal channels do not invite them.

“You invited me and I came,” Medvedev said in an interview with Vladimir Pozner on Channel One on Monday, June 4.

“I will not hide the fact that I wanted to convey my position on the new government and party events, and you made a very timely offer that I could not but accept,” the prime minister said.

“I am responsible for the government and for United Russia members too,” he said when asked whether the invitation of members of “non-system” opposition to Channel One may cause problems.
