Kinotavr Film Festival kicks off in Sochi

Fifteen Russian feature films and 20 short films will run in the festival’s contest program

SOCHI, June 3 (Itar-Tass) — The 13th Kinotavr Film Festival will open in Sochi, the Black Sea, on Sunday night.

One of the first prizes will be awarded to film director Karen Shakhnazarov to commend his contribution to the development of the national film industry.

Boris Khlebnikov’s satirical comedy ‘Until the Night Separates Them’ will open the contest. The film is set at the most pretentious Moscow restaurant.

Fifteen Russian feature films and 20 short films will run in the festival’s contest program.

The film show will last for the whole week.

The main prize winners in categories: the best direction, the best debut, the best men’s and women’s roles, the best cameraman, the best scenario and the best music, will be announced at the closing ceremony on June 10.
