Charitable TV program helps raising over 30 mln rubles for ill children

KRASNODAR, Southern Russia, June 3 (Itar-Tass) — A ‘Flower – Seven Color’ charitable TV marathon held in the Krasnodar territory has helped raising more than 30 million rubles for seriously ill children, a source at the regional department for family policy told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

“The staff of the Krasnodar city administration transferred more than 600,000 rubles to the charitable fund’s account,” Krasnodar’s city mayor Vladimir Yevlanov said.

The project is designed to help those who cannot cope with life problems on their own. ‘The Flower-Seven Color. Let’s Help Children Together’ charitable TV program is running the initiative of Kuban’s regional Governor Alexander Tkachyov.

The marathon timed to coincide with the International Children’s Day went on air at the Krasnodar-based Channel 9.

Children also received gifts at the Channel 9 studio. Arina Gritsenko who had suffered from brain tumor got a doll as a gift. Her mother received 80,000 rubles to take the daughter for rehabilitation to St. Petersburg.

Misha Bulkin who has a rare disease called ‘elephantiasis’ received 200,000 rubles for treatment, while the mother of little Diana who’s ill with liver cirrhosis was granted 150,000 rubles for expensive medicine and special nutrition.
