MOSCOW, June 2 (Itar-Tass) — Policemen detained a suspect who attacked three schoolgirls in northern Moscow, making this for sexual reasons, Itar-Tass learnt on Saturday at the press service of the Moscow police department.

An unidentified person committed attacks on three schoolgirls of the fifth and the sixth grades two days ago in three different streets of Moscow’s Savelovsky district. All the attacks took place at entrances of apartment houses.

Taking into account these facts, the Moscow branch of the Russian Investigation Committee instituted three criminal cases in connection with these crimes, provided for by Article 132 of the Russian Criminal Code (Violent acts of sexual nature).

A crisis centre was set up to track down the rapist; volunteers helped to look for the law-breaker.

“Police officers detained the suspect, committing crimes on sexual grounds, last night. Investigators are now working with the detainee,” the press service noted.
