Moscow calls for waiting until end of UN investigation of Houla massacre

Logically, the massacre was totally unnecessary ahead of Kofi Annan’s visit, the diplomat remarked

MOSCOW, June 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Moscow calls for waiting until the UN investigates the Houla massacre, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Friday in comment on the Syrian governmental commission’s conclusion about the incident.

“We call on everyone to wait until the end of the UN investigation and not to jump to conclusions,” he said. UN Observation Mission in Syria head Gen. Robert Mood is holding the investigation.

“Until the observers make a report, we would like everyone to abstain from hasty conclusions and accusations. That is a thorny case, and it needs to be explored,” he said.

Logically, the massacre was totally unnecessary ahead of Kofi Annan’s visit, the diplomat remarked.
