STRASBOURG, June 1 (Itar-Tass) – Ukrainian authorities have set up appropriate conditions for medical treatment of former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko, and that is why there is no need for her transfer to a clinic in Germany, says a statement the European Court of Human Rights published Wednesday.
The college of judges took a decision to deny an opportunity to Timoshenko to take treatment on German territory, it says.
The court judges noted with satisfaction Timoshenko’s admission to a hospital in Kharkov where she is getting treatment from an independent neurologist. This gave grounds to the court to draw a conclusion that any factors threatening Timoshenko’s life are absent at present.
Along with it, the court has asked the Ukrainian authorities to provide more information on a possible use of violence against Timoshenko, who is serving a seven-year term in a general penal colony in Kharkov for ostensible abuses of her prime-ministerial powers in the past.
There are suppositions that Timoshenko might have been subjected to physical coercion while be transported to hospital for treatment.
Timoshenko started complaining over health problems last December. Since she does not trust Ukrainian physicians, she is getting treatment from German doctors
