MOSCOW, May 31 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia is ready to discuss the gas issue with Ukraine, Russia’s presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said on Thursday commenting on the statement of Ukraine’s Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov that Russia is ready to revise the current agreement.
“Russia is ready always to consider views of its partners, to listen to their arguments, and at the same time Russia has been ready to give its explanations,” Peskov said. “First of all we base our position on the existing gas agreements, under which we are supplying natural gas.”
“As for any discussion on the topic, we have never ruled it out,” Peskov said.
