BANGKOK, May 31 (Itar-Tass) — The Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) has completed transcription of dialogues recorded on the cockpit voice recorder of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane that crashed in Indonesia on May 9, its chief Tatang Kurniadi said on Thursday.
“We are now analyzing the transcription with the assistance of an interpreter from the Indonesian Embassy in Uzbekistan,” the Jakarta Post quoted him as saying.
The CVR was found on May 16. Also on Thursday, the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency handed the flight-data recorder found on Wednesday to the KNKT. “The FDR was found 20 meters down the slope from the location of the plane’s tail wreckage,” agency’s chief Vice Marshal Daryatmo said at a news conference on Thursday.
Officially the search operation at the crash site ended on May 22, after remains of all 45 victims had been found.
The Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 crashed into Mount Salak during a demonstration flight on May 9. There were eight Russian nationals, 35 Indonesians as well as a Frenchman and an American national on board.
