GORNO-ALTAISK, May 31 (Itar-Tass) — The Yenissei Industrial Company will allocate 200 million roubles this year for archeological digs along the line of the route of a future first railway line, Kyzyl-Kuragino, leading to the Tuva Republic.

The Company is a partner of the Russian Geograpical Society (RGS), which on June 8 intends to launch a second archeological and geographic expedition of the RGS to explore the Kyzyl-Kurakino route, an official in the press service of the Tuva government has told Itar-Tass.

An understanding on the financing of archeological excavations along the Kyzyl-Kurakino railway route was reached way back in October 2011 at a republican government conference with the participation of Sholban Kara-ool, Head of the Region, Maxim Tokarev, Russian Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Ruslan Baisarov, the Company's general director, and other officials of Federal agencies.

To preserve the historical and cultural artefacts is one of priorities for the Company in the construction of a 400-km Kyzyl-Kurakino railway. Railway line planners are assigned to treat artefacts most carefully, at times through adjustment of the line of route. This has been already done at six sections of the future railway.

Accoriding to archeological survey data, the railway construction zone comprises 71 cultural and historical artefacts, with 45 of them found in the Valley of Czars in Tuva. Company management vows that the objects of cultural and historical heritage will not be affected during the railway construction.

In all, under the four-year programme of study and dig along the Kyzyl-Kurakiko railway route, it is planned to study more than 100 objects of historical and cultural heritage, and of the early development of Siberia, such as activity areas, burial mounds, and settlement sites.

The construction of the railway is already getting underway and is to be completed in 2014. The contemplated scope of transportation of freight via the future railway will be 12 million tonnes a year. The cost of this large-scale investment project is estimated at 120,000 million roubles.
