MOSCOW, May 31 (Itar-Tass) —— The head of the Interior Ministry’s Okhrana security service company, Andrei Komissarov, has tendered resignation.

The resignation has been accepted, the Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Wednesday, May 30.

In December 2011, a criminal case was opened for abuses committed by the company. Investigators said Komissarov acted in excess of his powers in 2008-2011 when signing contracts with suppliers, inflicting damage estimated at more than 60 million roubles.

The Interior Ministry declined to comment on the investigation before the trial.
