MOSCOW, May 30 (Itar-Tass) — A man linked to organizing a market explosion in Vladikavkaz has been sentenced to 14 years in jail in North Ossetia, Vladimir Markin, an official spokesman for the Russian Investigations Committee, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
“Alikhan Ortskhanov was found guilty on charges of being a member of criminal community, banditry and encroachment on the life of law enforcer and illegal arms trade. A court sentenced Ortskhanov to 14 years in a top security prison and paying 150,000 rubles to the blast victims as compensation for material damage,” Markin clarified.
Preliminary investigation was supervised by the Federal Security Service department for Ingushetia and the North Ossetian Interior Ministry.
“Investigation has established that in January 2010 Ortskhanov voluntarily joined the Vilayat Galgaiche criminal group and its organized armed unit whose members are linked to a bomb explosion at the Vladikavkaz central market on September 9, 2010. Nineteen people were killed and more than 200 were injured in that blast, “Markin said.
Ortskhanov took part in committing a series of grave and particularly grave crimes in Ingushetia and North Ossetia.
