TSKHINVAL, May 30 (Itar-Tass) — Former candidate for the post of President of South Ossetia, David Sanakoyev, has been appointed Foreign Minister of the young South Caucasian nation.

President Leonid Tibilov signed a decree on Sanakoyev’s appointment Wednesday, the presidential press service said.

Murat Dzhioyev, who has headed the Foreign Ministry for many years, has gotten the position of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President for the post-conflict peace settlement. In most probability, he will chair the South Ossetian delegation at the discussions on security-building measures in South Caucasus that are held on a regular basis in Geneva under the auspices of the UN and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
