Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Ukrainian colleague Nikolai Azarov met on the sidelines of the session of the Council of CIS prime ministers in Ashgabad

ASHGABAD, May 30 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian-Ukrainian economic cooperation commission will meet in the middle of this summer, first deputy chief of the Russian government staff Sergei Prikhodko told reporters on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Ukrainian colleague Nikolai Azarov met on the sidelines of the session of the Council of CIS prime ministers in Ashgabad. The parties discussed the issues that had been touched upon at the United Russia congress in Moscow.

Medvedev and Azarov agreed to hold the next session of the committee for trade and economic cooperation under the interstate Russian-Ukrainian Commission in Donetsk on June 27.

"We view /this meeting/ as an important stage ahead of the session of the Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission, supposedly in mid-summer," Prikhodko said.

In the course of the talks, Medvedev and Azarov continued the discussion of cooperation in aerospace.
