MOSCOW, May 30 (Itar-Tass) — The Federation Council (FC) upper house of the Russian parliament, at a plenary meeting here on Wednesday, will hear reports by Prosecutor-General Yuri Chaika and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, discuss candidacies of three new judges of the Supreme Court, and consider a number of laws, including the one specifying parameters of the Federal budget for 2012.
The legislative agenda of Wednesday's plenary meeting of the FC consists of over 10 items. The upper house of parliament is also to discuss a law on regulation of the activities of Russian citizens and legal entities in Antarctica. The law is aimed at ensuring the safety of work in that region and at reducing the negative impact on the Antarctic environment.
The FC members are to consider ratification of the Treaty on Partnership Relations between Russia and Chile, an Agreement between the Governments of the RF and Kazakhstan on a procedure for medical service at Baikonur, and the 2006 Convention on labour in sea shipping. The House is to decide on yet another item on the agenda: the termination of the powers of FC Member Nikolai Fyodorov earlier than planned in view of his being appointed the Minister of Agricuture of the RF.
