ASTANA, May 29 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom is ready to help Iran to build one more power unit at the Bushehr nuclear power plant, if it is economically profitable and politically expedient, Rosatom deputy head Nikolai Spassky told reporters on Tuesday.

“If it is not banned and if it is profitable, if the project is developed we are ready,” Spassky stated. He added that there is nothing new in such formulation of the issue. “The UN Security Council permitted this issue in sanction resolutions. Preliminary consultations continue on this issue,” he recalled.

The scope of factors should be realized to conclude a contract, Spassky said. “First of all, an economic project should be developed and there should be economic expediency. There is nothing at all yet,” the Rosatom deputy head underlined.
