Italian tourist operators visit Krasnodar resorts

First Italian tourists are expected to arrive in the Krasnodar territory next summer

KRASNODAR, Southern Russia, May 28 (Itar-Tass) — An Italian delegation has completed an 8-day familiarization tour of the Black Sea resorts in the Krasnodar territory, a source at the regional department for resorts and tourism told Itar-Tass on Monday.

The delegation consisted of representatives of seven Italian tour operators who visited resorts and health improvement facilities as well as night clubs and other entertainment centers in Anapa, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, Tuapse, Krasnodar and Sochi. The Italians were pleasantly surprised by what they saw.

“We were particularly impressed by the Ataman ethnographic complex, the Abrau-Dyurso village and a champagne house of the same name, memorial sites in Novorossiysk, Sochi – the future capital of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, and Krasnodar’s night life,” Michele Brustia, director of the MVT tourist company, told Itar-Tass. He said the region had good potential for developing cruise tourism. He noted a busy and intensive sport life at Krasnodar resorts.

Italian and Russian tour operators held a roundtable meeting. The Italians said they were ready to offer three tourist packages to Italian customers, including visits to Krasnodar resorts: an 8-day tour Moscow-St. Petersburg – Sochi-Gelendzhik-Anapa; a visit to several resorts of the Krasnodar territory and their main tourist attractions; a two or three-day-long youth tour to the seaside and Krasnodar’s night clubs.
