VLADIVOSTOK, May 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Sakhalin’s Captain Bolsunovsky fishing trawler sank after having collided with an ice block in the Bering Strait on Saturday. Another fishing vessel, the Dersu Uzala, rescued 91 sailors. They are being transported to the Korsakov port, the Sakhalin fishing fleet monitoring service reported on Sunday.
The accident occurred 40 miles off the Kamchatkan coastline on Saturday afternoon. After the collision, the ship stayed afloat for 40 to 45 minutes, while the sailors were embarking the Dersu Uzala. Both ships are registered in Kholmsk and owned by fishing company Sakhalinleasingflot.
