GORNO-ALTAISK, May 25 (Itar-Tass) —— An operational group of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is in readiness in the town of Chersky in the Nizhnekamsk district, where the villages of Kolymskoye and Pokhodsk are faced with a flood threat.

A Mi-8 helicopter flew out on Friday morning to monitor the Alazeya River flood situation, and after the return to Chersky, the helicopter will head for the village of Kolymskoye.

The water level in the village remained stable for the past 24 hours -- 805 cm, with the critical level of 1,010 cm, but the ice on the river is moving, and the high water is expected to come to Kolymskoye in a day or two.

The ice on the Yasachnaya River and the Kolyma near Zyryanka broke earlier than usual, and the water went up in a flood wave, inundating nearby areas.
