MAKHACHKALA, May 25 (Itar-Tass) — A gunman has been killed in the Dagestani capital Makhachkala when he staged an armed attack policemen.
The republic’s Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday that “at about 19:30, Moscow time, Thursday an unknown person opened fire on a police squad in the yard of a house at 5, Askerkhanova Street.” According to the ministry, the attacker was killed be return fire. He has been identified as Adam Alimirzayev, a resident of Makhachkala.
There were no casualties among the policemen. The destroyed gunman had on him a Makarov pistol with obliterated number.
A criminal case has been opened under two articles of the RF Criminal Code – “encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers” and “Illicit trafficking in arms and ammunition.”
