Time drawing to reach compromise on missile defence

As America’s plans to create missile defence are becoming real, time is drawing on to search for a compromise

MOSCOW, May 24 (Itar-Tass) — Time is drawing on to allow Russia and the United States to reach a compromise on missile defence, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.

“As America’s plans to create missile defence are becoming real, time is drawing on to search for a compromise,” Lukashevich said.

“We are convinced that the far-sighting and transparent policy, which is aimed at developing genuinely equal and mutually respectful relations, will facilitate security and stability on the Euro-Atlantic space,” the diplomat added.

“We urge our NATO partners to make a choice for the benefit of such policy and finally give up stereotypes and phobias of the past times,” Lukashevich stressed.
