Yanukovich orders PM to fire ministers hindering reforms deliberately

It is necessary to speed up the modernisation of the country in order to improve social protection of the people

KIEV, May 24 (Itar-Tass) — Viktor Yanukovich warned Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov that if he did not fire the ministers who hinder reforms deliberately, the President would have to do so himself.

“There is no room for such ministers in the Cabinet,” the president said on Thursday opening a meeting of the Council of Regions.

“It is necessary to speed up the modernisation of the country in order to improve social protection of the people,” he said adding that “instead of this, we see deliberate attempts to hinder the reforms.”
