PRAGUE, May 23 (Itar-Tass) — A Russian military transport plane An-30 has made an emergency landing at Czech military aerodrome in Caslav not far from the city of Kutna-Hora on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the General Staff of the Czech armed forces reported.
According to preliminary information, the Russian plane was making an inspection flight in the Czech air space in the framework of the Open Sky program.
The Russian plane caught fire when landing. Fire brigades managed to evacuate 17 people from the plane who received severe burns. Two victims are in serious condition.
The survivors have been airlifted in a helicopter to medical centers in Prague and Hradec Kr·lov·.
Earlier reports said there were 23 people on board, including 14 Russian and 9 Czech citizens.
