10 Nevsky Express dynamiters sentenced

The Tver regional court on Tuesday sentenced the defendants in the case over the bombing of the Nevsky Express train to seven years to life imprisonment

TVER, May 22 (Itar-Tass) — The Tver regional court on Tuesday sentenced the defendants in the case over the bombing of the Nevsky Express train to seven years to life imprisonment.

The train was blasted in November 2009. Twenty-seven persons died and more than 150 passengers were injured.

Earlier, nine members of the Kartoyev family and Zelimkhan Aushev, all residents of Ingushetia, were found guilty or terrorist attack, murder, attempted murder, participation in illegal paramilitary formation, banditry and illegal weapons making.
