KIEV, May 22 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine has resumed supplies of cheese to Russia.
“First trucks with Ukraine’s cheese left for Russia several hours ago and crossed the border safely,” Ukraine’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade Petr Poroshenko said on Tuesday. He stressed that “thanks to these supplies, thousands of people were able to get back their jobs, and dozens of thousands of farmers – to get a fair price for the milk products.”
In early February, Rospotrebnadzor suspended import of cheese from Ukraine’s three producers, having explained the product’s quality did not answer requirements of the Customs Union /of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus/, namely, by containing vegetable oils. Later on, Rospotrebnadzor suspended import of cheese from Ukraine’s other four producers.
