UFA, May 22 (Itar-Tass) — A large oil and gas forum and the 20th international exhibition Gas, Oil, Technologies’2012 opens Tuesday in the city of Ufa, the administrative center of the constituent region of Bashkortostan.

Taking part in it are more than 370 companies from 36 regions of Russia, countries of the CIS and foreign states. The list of traditional participants includes the leading Russian manufacturers that have secured prominent positions for themselves among the leaders of production, transportation, refining/processing of oil and gas, and the output of chemical products.

Spokespeople for the organizing committee said the theme sections of the forum embrace all the aspects of activity of the fuels and energy complex from the exploration of deposits to a high-rate refining/processing of hydrocarbons.

The oil and gas forum in Ufa traditionally brings together the most authoritative experts in the field of fuels and energy, who map out the strategic guidelines for the sector’s development.

This year, the scope of participants includes about 600 specialists and researchers, who will discuss the problems of oil and gas refining/processing, the petrochemical industry, automation, metrology, reliability and safety of the systems for transportation of oil products and natural gas.

An international workshop ‘Oil & Gas Processing’2012’ dedicated to the centenary anniversary since the birth of A.S. Eigenson, the man who founded the Institute of Oil and Gas Processing will be held on the sidelines of the forum.

“An expansive business program with theme conferences makes up and inalienable part of the forum,” a spokesman said. “A harmonious combination of the exhibition and attendant events turns it into a site, which brings the interests of producers and consumers closer together.”
