LONDON, May 21 (Itar-Tass) —— A session of the Presidium of the World Council of News Agencies was held on Monday, May 21, at the head office of the British Press Association news agency, with the executives of the world's leading mass communication media participating.
The Russian side at the session was represented by Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director-General of Itar-Tass.
The heads of leading news agencies discussed the preparation of the News Agency World Congress in Al-Riyadh on November 17-21. They decided to invite members of leading printed and electronic mass media in the Middle East to attend the forum.
The participants in the session also discussed issues concerning coordination of the activities of the leading suppliers of information to print and electronic media.
Special attention was paid to the preparation of the II World Media Summit to be held in Moscow on July 4-7.
The heads of news agencies expressed interest in participating in this forum.
