MOSCOW, May 21 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow decisively denounces a suicide bombing in Yemen’s capital of Sanaa on Monday and expresses confidence that extremists’ attempts to destabilize the situation in Yemen are destined to collapse, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said.

One of the deadliest attacks in Yemen took place early in the day at a military parade rehearsal in the run up to the celebration of Yemen’s National Day on Tuesday.

A suicide bomber killed about a hundred soldiers and injured another 300 in Sanaa not far from the presidential palace.

“We decisively denounce unprecedented by its impudence and cynicism this bloody act of extremists who seek at any cost to destabilize the situation in Yemen trying to disrupt a comprehensive political process that began in that country,” the ministry said. “We are confident that all criminal attempts of this kind are destined to failure.”

Moscow “is ready to further provide to the friendly nation necessary assistance in the implementation of Yemen’s course for the soonest possible launch of a broad national dialogue, comprehensive democratic and socio-economic reforms in compliance with the interests and expectations of all citizens of the country,” the ministry said.
