MOSCOW, May 21 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that he signed the decrees on the structure and makeup of the government and intends to have a meeting with the newly appointed Cabinet on Monday.
“The decrees were signed,” the president said at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Medvedev noted that the new government will be formed by three fourths from new appointees.
“How many new appointees are there?” Putin asked. “I offered that three fourths are new appointees, which appeared quite recently and were appointed in the government for the first time,” Medvedev said.
Putin recalled that Medvedev “introduced his candidates for the posts of ministers and his vision on the structure of the government.” The president noted that he had consultations with each candidate. “It is right if we appoint a new Cabinet,” he suggested.
Medvedev thanks the president “for the consideration of his proposals and an attentive attitude to the candidates.” In his view, the Monday meeting with the president “is very important for a future government.”
