MOSCOW, May 21 (Itar-Tass) — The results of the world championship that ended in Finland and Sweden with the Russian team's triumph on Sunday have determined the makeup of the groups for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

The Russians will play in Group A together with the teams of the United States and Slovakia and the winner of the third group’s qualifiers between the teams of Denmark, Belarus and Slovenia.

In Group B are Canada, Finland, Norway and the winner of the second group (Latvia, France and Kazakhstan).

Competing in Group C will be the Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland and the winner of the first group (Germany, Austria and Italy).

Eight teams will play in the quarterfinals -- two winners of each group and two teams which will have better results among the third.

The Olympic Games will be held from February 7 to 23.
