MOSCOW, May 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Supreme Court has turned down a supervisory appeal against the second verdict to former Yukos chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky and MENATEP chief Platon Lebedev, the Supreme Court said on its official website.

"Having studied the investigation files the court turned down the supervisory appeal filed by the lawyers," the court said on its website.

"The lawyers have not been notified yet," Lebedev’s lawyer Yelena Liptser told Itar-Tass.

On December 30, 2010 Moscow’s Khamovniki district court sentenced Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev to 14 years in prison for illegal appropriation of oil and money laundering.

The defendants and their lawyers appealed the verdict at the Moscow City Court, which reduced their prison term by one year. Taking into account a previous verdict passed to the defendants in 2005 their prison term expires in 2016.
