MOSCOW, May 18 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian-Italian joint venture HeliVert will release its first AW139 helicopters this year, Russian Helicopters Holding General Director Dmitry Petrov told Arms-Tass at the HeliRussia 2012 international helicopter industry show in Moscow.
“The first knockdown kit will be delivered to the HeliVert plant in Tomilino, Moscow region, in late May. We will produce more than one helicopter this year,” he said.
The Russian Governmental Commission on Foreign Investments approved the deal of Russian Helicopters and British-Italian AugustaWestland in early May 2011, and the agreement to set up the joint venture was signed last summer.
The names of the first clients of the joint venture are not disclosed but their number exceeds five. One of the clients plans to lend ten AW319 choppers to the UTair airline.
