MOSCOW, May 18 (Itar-Tass) — Zeinap Suyunova has been found guilty of attempting a terror act on Moscow Red Square and sentenced to ten years, Russian Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“The court acknowledged as sufficient the evidence collected by the Main Investigative Department of the Russian Investigation Committee for the conviction of Zeinap Suyunova. The court sentenced her to ten years in a general penitentiary,” he said.

The Moscow City Court found Suyunova guilty of banditry, attempted terror act and illegal storing, acquisition and production of ammunition and explosive devices, he said.

Ibragimkhalil Daudov, the Gubden gang leader, planned a terror attack on Red Square for December 31, 2010. The preparations were done from October to December 2010. Suyunova was supposed to be a bomber, Markin said.

The woman came to Moscow and checked into a hotel on Golovachyova Street. The bombs made by Suyunova and others were taken to Moscow earlier. Suyunova and Zavzhat Daudova received sms messages on December 30-31, concerning their further actions. They were told to take a taxi to the Moscow center at about 8:00 a.m. on December 31 and to commit suicide bombings. The women failed to meet the plan. A bomb attached to Daudova blasted while she was still at the hotel, at about 7:50 p.m. Moscow time. She died in the explosion.

Suyunova could not blast her bomb because she had lost the bomb’s safety piece and cell phone on the explosion scene and could not get in touch with the gang leader for receiving new instructions.

Hence she decided to leave and took a bus to Kizlyar, Dagestan. Police checked her id in Volgograd on January 2, 2011, and transferred the suspect to Moscow. A court put her under arrest.
