MOSCOW, May 17 (Itar-Tass) — Co-chair of the opposition movement Solidarity Ilya Yashin who was detained near the Barrikadnaya metro station on Wednesday night will remain in the Tagansky police department before his case consideration in court, Yashin’s lawyers that have been staying near the police department reported in the Twitter microblog.
“Yashin will stay in the police department until the trial, which will take place Thursday afternoon,” they reported.
On Wednesday evening, the OMON riot policemen detained for various offenses more than 30 members of the opposition camp in Kudrinskaya Square, Ilya Yashin was among them.
An administrative offence protocol was drawn up against the opposition member under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Offence Code (disobedience of a legal order of a police officer). The maximum penalty for this offence is 15 days of administrative arrest.
After early on Wednesday morning the police cleared the Chistoprudniy Boulevard of oppositionists, the activists of the camp moved to a park near the Barrikadnaya metro station.
There were about 1,500 protesters staying around midnight in the park in front of a ‘Stalin’s skyscraper.’ Some of the camp participants decided to stay there until the morning.
