MOSCOW, May 16 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow calls for not thwarting the U.N. observer mission in Syria, Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a convoy of the U.N. mission was exploded near Khan-Sheikun, Idlib Province. Three cars were hurt. No casualties among U.N. observers were reported.

“The U.N. mission’s car struck a landmine in Syria,” Gatilov wrote on the Twitter blog. “It is necessary to do everything possible not to thwart the U.N. observer mission,” he added.
