Medvedev urges agrarians to make investments in land development

He added that according to statistical reports about a half of the land development system is depreciated

MOSCOW, May 16 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev urged the agrarians to make their own investments in land development. He has made a proposal at a telecom conference devoted to the progress of the spring sawing campaign and cattle breeding development in Moscow on Wednesday.

Medvedev recalled that this year two billion roubles were allocated for the restoration of the land development system. The regions should decide for themselves how to deal with this issue, he said.

“It is clear that this money is not enough for a greater part of upcoming works, to put it mildly. It is necessary to estimate and moreover use their own reserves,” Medvedev noted. He added that according to statistical reports about a half of the land development system is depreciated.
