PARIS, May 16 (Itar-Tass) —— The Skolkovo innovations center will be built by approximately a third by the G8 summit in 2014, Skolkovo Foundation Vice-President Seda Pumpyanskaya told Itar-Tass.
“The first building will be complete this year. The first segment of the university and a campus for 600 students will be built by the G8 Skolkovo meeting in 2014. A part of the infrastructure and auxiliary buildings will be also ready by then,” she said.
“The project will have three stages, with the commissioning deadlines in 2014, 2017 and 2020,” she said. French company AREP won the tender for drafting the Skolkovo general plan. “Ten architectural bureaus are working with us, two per each of the five districts of the city,” she noted.
Once the construction works are done, Skolkovo will employ about 30,000 people. It is 400 hectares in size and will become a part of Moscow after the enlargement of the capital city this July.
