MOSCOW, May 15 (Itar-Tass) — Foreign Ministry’s commissioner for human rights, democracy and supremacy of law Konstantin Dolgov said the legal mechanisms to return Viktor Bout to the Russian Federation exist, but that they are scarce.
"We'll be seeking Bout's return to the Motherland. There are legal mechanism for it, but they are few," Dolgov told reporters on Tuesday.
At the same time, the diplomat underlined that the USA had to meet Russia halfway in the issue.
"Hopefully, we'll cooperate," Dolgov said.
Russia has no intention to seize anyone with the purpose of exchange. "Bout's is a sensitive issue: he has health problems; there may be problems with prisons conditions /the transfer to a special prison in Colorado - eds Itar-Tass/, the Russian Foreign Ministry's human rights commissioner said.
