Russia hands over blood samples to identify Superjet crash victims

MOSCOW, May 15 (Itar-Tass) — Russia has handed over to Indonesia blood samples of relatives of the Russian citizens killed in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 crash to identify the remains, Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

Onboard the airliner that disappeared from radars’ screens during its second demonstration flight in Jakarta there were 45 people – 35 Indonesians, eight Russians, one American and one French.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner crashed into a steep slope of Mount Salak on May 9, approximately 64 kilometers south of the Indonesian capital.
