Hillary Clinton to take part in Women and Economy forum in St Petersburg

The Russian delegation there will be led by Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the upper house of parliament

WASHINGTON, May 15 (Itar-Tass) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will take part the ‘Women and the Economy’ international forum that will be held in St Petersburg June 28 to June 30, Russia’s special envoy for the affairs of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum Gennady Ovechko said here Monday.

“‘Women in the Economy’ forum will take place in St Petersburg June 28 to June 30 and foreign ministers and other top-rank officials will attend its plenary session June 30,” Ovechko said.

The Russian delegation there will be led by Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the upper house of parliament, Ovechko said. He recalled that Matviyenko “is state official number three in this country now and she has been Governor of St Petersburg in the past.”

“We’ve been told here that the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, will head the American delegation,” he said.
