MOSCOW, May 14 (Itar-Tass) — Andrei Arshavin, the striker of the Russian national squad and the St. Petersburg team ‘Zenith’, will be the Russian team’s captain at the Euro-2012 football championship, the squad’s Dutch coach Dick Advocaat told a news conference at the House of Football on Monday.
The position of the main goalkeeper at the forthcoming tournament remains open. Advocaat said that Igor Akinfeyev was the most likely candidate to defend the Russian squad’s gates.
