SAMARA, May 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The death of a suspect at a detention ward is being investigated in Samara, the regional department of the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
The body of a 37-year-old man was found in the cell of the Samara 8th police station at about 10:00 p.m. on May 12. There were no signs of violence on the body. The man was arrested on suspicion of peddling drugs.
A criminal case may be opened depending on the outcome of the preliminary investigation.
This is the second death of a detained suspect in Samara in the past few days.
A 33-year-old woman died at a detention ward on May 11. She was suspected of stealing 530 rubles worth of costume jewelry at a local shopping mall. This death is also being investigated.
