NALCHIK, May 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Four people died in the Sunday accident of a bus carrying a children’s ensemble near Pyatigorsk, North Caucasian emergency situations department spokesman Kantemir Davydov told Itar-Tass.
Seventeen people are wounded, including four heavily. “These are preliminary reports. Schoolchildren are in shock; they are unable to evaluate their condition adequately,” he said.
The Arabesk ensemble of the Tyrnauz children’s art school was traveling to Zheleznovodsk to take part in a nationwide contest. Two buses collided on the 4th kilometer of the Obkhod-Inozemtsevo road at approximately 12:20 p.m. Moscow time. The bus carrying children fell down into a ditch. Two children and the ensemble’s artistic director Yulia Maiboroda died instantly. Another woman died later on. The injured were taken to the Pyatigorsk hospital.
