RF rescuers ready to take part in rescue operation in Indonesia

About 70 specialists of Tsentrospas and the “Leader” are currently staying in Indonesia

MOSCOW, May 12 (Itar-Tass) — Russian rescuers have deployed a camp and they are ready to be involved in the search for on the site of the Superjet 100 crash, the Emergency Situations Ministry’s press service reported on Saturday.

“The Tsentrospas detachment and a group of the Centre for Special Risk Operations, ‘Leader’, have deployed a camp and gotten priority tasks to hold rescue operations and provide aid. They are ready to fulfil these tasks,” an official of the press service said.

In addition, psychologists are working at the airport of Jakarta where relatives of Russian citizens, who were aboard of the crashed Russian airliner. “In Moscow psychologists of the Emergency Care Centre are accompanying relatives on all stages to resolve organisational problems,” the press service reported.

About 70 specialists of Tsentrospas and the “Leader”, as well as emergency and medical-psychological groups, are currently staying in Indonesia. Two light helicopters, the Bo-105 and BK-117, arrived in Jakarta to take part in the rescue operation, the press service said.

The Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner crashed during the flight demonstration on May 9. According to the existing information, there are 45 people, including eight Russians, aboard the jet. Itar-Tass reports the crewmembers involve chief pilot Alexander Yablontsev, assisted captain Alexander Kochetkov, air navigator Oleg Shvetsov. In addition, engineer Alexei Kirkin and air flight test engineer Denis Rakhimov were aboard the plane. The flight demonstration also involved three employees of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company – Nikolai Martyshchenko, Yevgeny Grebenshchikov and Kristina Kurzhukova.

At present, the bodies of dead persons are being evacuated from the slope of the Salak Mountain at the height of 1,500 kilometres.
