Ground operation at Sukhoi Superjet 100 crash site suspended

The advance group of rescuers comprising 10 people has yet 600 metres to go to the Russian airliner’s crash site

BANGKOK, May 11 (Itar-Tass) — Ground operation in the area of ··the crash of Russia’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner on Mount Salak in Indonesia has been suspended because the terrain does not allow the rescuers to move on, a source in the crisis headquarters at Jakarta Airport said on Friday.

The advance group of rescuers comprising 10 people has yet 600 metres to go to the Russian airliner’s crash site, it is almost impossible to do this. The group of rescuers has stopped at a river, and it does not seem possible to cut across it.
