BANGKOK, May 11 (Itar-Tass) — Representative of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) Leonid Kashirsky flew from Jakarta Airport to the site of the crash of Russia’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner.
The investigation of the Superjet crash can take up to 12 months and, if necessary, this period may be extended for another three months. This opinion was expressed by blogger Sergei Dolya who is staying at Jakarta Airport.
On Thursday evening, Russia and Indonesia agreed at a meeting at the crisis headquarters at Jakarta Airport to work together to investigate the Superjet plane incident and conduct the rescue operation.
“The head of the United Aircraft Corporation, which owns the Sukhoi holding, Mikhail Pogosyan, and RF Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Yuri Slyusar who have arrived at the headquarters, have worked out with the Indonesian side the modality of joint work to investigate the Superjet accident and conduct the rescue operation,” the participants in the crisis headquarters’ meeting held at Jakarta Airport on Thursday evening told Itar-Tass.
